Fletcher Construction Company is a Wyoming general contracting incorporation that was founded in 1955 by Joseph L. Fletcher and Shirley M. Fletcher.  The company has been privately owned and managed by the Fletcher family for over three generations.  George Fletcher is currently the Chairman of the Board of Directors after serving as the President and developing and growing the company with his wife, Susan Patton Fletcher, for over 30 years.  Eric Bouley is the current acting President and together with his wife, Amy Fletcher Bouley, the traditions of quality workmanship and excellence in construction services live on in Fletcher Construction.

From its inception, the company has focused on quality craftsmanship and construction.  We believe that the employees of Fletcher Construction are what set us apart from our competitors.  The hard work, skill, integrity, and diversity of our project managers, superintendents, and craftsmen are what make the company the success it is today.  The company employs approximately eight office and fifty field personnel.  Many of these employees have been with the company for over ten years and more have retired after successful careers, contributing to what the company is today.  Over the years, Fletcher Construction has developed a system of cross-training its employees to perform the work of several different trades.  This has allowed us to develop consistently strong and competent workers within our small economic community.

The founder, Joseph L. Fletcher, was born in Gillette, Wyoming.  Joe became interested in construction after serving in World War II and started an apprenticeship in carpentry in May 1946 for Wilber Fish Construction Company in Hardin, Montana.  Joe married Shirley Cornelius on September 1, 1946.  He received his journeyman's certificate on March 12, 1950.  In the 1950's, 60's and 70's many fine custom homes were constructed by Fletcher Construction in the Sheridan area.  In the early 1960's the company began bidding and building light commercial and publicly owned projects in addition to quality home construction.

George Fletcher began working as an apprentice carpenter in the 1970's.  After receiving a degree in Construction Engineering Technology from MSU in 1976, George and his wife Sue returned to Sheridan to help manage the company.  George became President of Fletcher Construction Company in March of 1988 when Joseph retired.  The company prospered under the leadership of George and Sue.

George's successors in the company are his daughter Amy F. Bouley, P.E. and her husband Eric E. Bouley, P.E.  Both Amy and Eric received their degrees in civil engineering from The University of Wyoming in 1995 and 1996, respectively.  Amy started at Fletcher Construction Company in 2000 as the payroll clerk.  She took over the Treasurer position in 2007.  Eric started with Fletcher Construction Company in 2001 as a project manager and became President in June 2009.  Eric has been active in the Big Horn Home Builders Association as a board member for three years.  He also serves on the board of directors for the Wyoming chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors.

Work that Fletcher Construction typically self performs includes earthwork, utilities, concrete (structural, flatwork, and stained), structural and light steel installation, rough and finish carpentry work, asphalt and wood shingle systems, siding, gypboard systems, acoustical ceilings, and specialties installation.  While traditional commercial and private sector general contracting work is at the core of Fletcher Construction's workload, the company also branches out into construction management, design-build and high-end residential work.  All projects are managed out of Fletcher’s main office located at 1866 South Sheridan Avenue in Sheridan, Wyoming.  Key personnel include the following:

Fletcher Construction Company maintains a solid working relationship with some of the area’s largest mechanical and electrical contracting firms who can assist with the selection process for the appropriate systems during the early phases of the design process.  Historical cost information from comparable projects help us to evaluate the relative costs and benefits of alternate systems.

Fletcher Construction has a long tradition of giving back to the communities that have given so much to us.  We encourage and support employee involvement in charitable activities.  Our involvement takes many forms including corporate sponsorships and fund-raising support; advisory assistance and hands-on assistance in donating labor, materials and/or equipment.
